Business Incubator
A creative consortium including Tyler Junior College, the City of Tyler and the Tyler Economic Development Council joined together to create a central location where local start-up and fledging businesses can be nurtured and grow into successful entrepreneurs with the creation of the Tyler Area Business Incubator.
Only 20 percent of new businesses succeed.
But 80 percent of businesses started in a
business incubator succeed.
The Tyler Area Business Incubator gives new or expanding businesses a supportive environment:
- Low overhead
- Shared resources
- Knowledgeable assistance and advice
- Professional environment
The businesses ''incubate'' to a level of maturity that allows graduation from the incubator to continue as a vital and integral force in the local economy.
The Tyler Area Business Incubator offers even more:
- Immediate access to technical training at the Tyler Junior College's West Campus, where the incubator is located.
- Support from the Small Business Development Center, also located at the West Campus.
- A community supportive of new business through aggressive tax abatement policies.
- Counseling regarding low-interest financing and government-guaranteed loan programs.
Located in an easily accessible location on the West Loop 323, adjacent to the Tyler Industrial Park, the incubator includes 26,000 square feet for new businesses. Preference is given to businesses based on technologically innovative products or services.
The Tyler area Business Incubator is a member of National Business Incubation Association.
