Greeting to the Student:
Welcome to TJC. As you consider a career in science I hope you will find your chemistry experience an interesting and rewarding experience.
Teaching Philosophy:
Every student has the capacity learn. My goal as an educator is to inspire the student to achieve the best that is within them. Learning occurs best when the student wants to learn. The art of teaching is presenting what a student needs to learn in such a way as they feel the need to learn.
Method of Evaluation of Students:
Evaluation comes on several levels. Thirty percent of a course grade is based on the laboratory grade. The other seventy percent of the grade comes from the classroom where there are daily grades based on homework, class activities and an occasional quiz. There are generally 3 to 4 exams and a final exam.
