Faculty Self Improvement Process
Part 1: New Faculty Members
First Year - All new faculty members will have the opportunity to;

- Observe at least one veteran instructor’s class,
- Evaluate their own performance in the classroom by videotaping one of their classes and filling out the Faculty Awareness Instrument Self/Peer Evaluation form,
- Have an unofficial evaluation by a peer faculty member of their choice using the Faculty Awareness Instrument Self/Peer Evaluation form.
- A self evaluation is then preformed by the new faculty member using the;

- Video tape of their performance,
- Faculty Awareness Instrument Self/Peer Evaluation forms completed by the new faculty member them self,
- Faculty Awareness Instrument Self/Peer Evaluation forms completed by a peer faculty member.
- The new faculty member writes a specific plan for instructional improvement listing their strengths and developmental areas using Faculty Self Evaluation Statement.
- A follow up meeting is scheduled with the new faculty member’s direct supervisor; Dean, Department Chair Director or Coordinator to;

- Review the Faculty Self Evaluation Statement,
- Outline and request specific development opportunities,
- Identify needed upcoming classes or workshops.
