Teaching Philosophy:
Anecdotal lecturing in historical narrative format is a successful means of conveying knowledge from the instructive tongue to the attentive ear, all the while reflecting on the essential tool of language and the vital role of aide-de-camp that is geography.

Method of Evaluation of Students:
Three major (chapters) tests and a comprehensive final that are equally weighted comprise ninety percent of the course grade.  Ten percent of the course grade is derived from participation and attendance.  One (only one) makeup test at semester's end is offered.  A student missing a chapters test must take the makeup to avoid a zero for the missed exam; however, any student that has not missed a test has the right to take the makeup.  Under these circumstances, the lowest grade (excluding the final) will be dropped.
