 Tutoring ServicesFOR ON CAMPUS COURSES: The Tutoring Center offers a nationally certified peer tutoring program which consists of one-on-one, group and walk-in tutoring for most core courses and some electives offered at Tyler Junior College. Tutoring is provided by students who have taken the course and made an A or tested out. They are trained in learning styles and can provide "Academic Coaching" which consists of relevant study skills, test taking skills, organization and time management. All services are no charge. If you are taking a course "face to face" on campus, you are only eligible for "face to face" tutoring for that course. If you are taking an online course, you may use "face to face" or online tutoring options. (See below)
FOR ONLINE COURSES: Smarthinking is an online tutoring service that the Tyler Junior College is making available to students enrolled in an online course in College Preparatory Math, College Algebra, Calculus, Statistics, Spanish, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Introduction to Anatomy & Physiology, General and Majors Biology, Physics, Accounting, Economics and Writing (across the curriculum).
